It’s great that the MASTERS World Weightlifting Championships in Wieliczka 2023 will also be accessible to people with disabilities! Weightlifting is a sport that requires a lot of physical strength and endurance, but with the right approach, training and equipment, people with disabilities can also do this sport.
There are many categories of weightlifting competitions for people with disabilities, depending on the degree of disability and the ability of the competitors. These may include, among others, competitions for people in wheelchairs, competitions for the blind or visually impaired, or competitions for people with paresis or lack of limbs and for people with other developmental disorders.
As organizers of the competition, we will ensure that all people with disabilities have equal opportunities and access to appropriate equipment and are treated in a fair and professional manner. We would like our championships in Wieliczka to be not only an opportunity to compete, but also to integrate, educate and popularize sport among people with disabilities.
